Found in Guangxi, southern Yunnan and southern Sichuan China, Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands, Korea and Japan on trees in primary broadleaved, damp forests or on damp cliff faces at elevations of 200 to 1500 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a suberect to pendulous below, ascending towards the apex, terete, simple to branched, fleshy, green stem carrying several to many, fleshy, terete, amplexicaul and clasping basally leaves that blooms in the spring.
