Orchidantha insularis (at XTBG, by Zhu Renbin)

 

Orchidantha insularis is endemic to China and only distributed around Mt Diaoluo on Hainan Island and noherbarium specimen of this species has been collected

after 1935. According to the IUCN red list categories and criteria (IUCN 2001), this species has a very small extent of occurrence (33 210 km 2). It is known at present only from

two locations and there is continuing decline in the habitatdue to logging and road building.
