Terrestrial, monopodial herbs. Leaves 25-40 x 4-8 cm, plaited, elliptic-lanceolate, apex caudate-acuminate, sessile. Panicles axillary, to 12 cm, bracts ovate-lanceolate, to 1 cm. Flowers ca 2.5 cm across, white, sepals and petals ca 1.5-2 cm, linear-lanceolate, lip unguiculate; column elongate, terete, rostellum bifid, foot absent, pollinia 2, clavate.
