In mid February, pomelo trees in Xishuangbanna burst into bloom. The fragrant yet unassuming white pomolo flowers are small, and often form ball-like clusters covering the entire tree when in full bloom.

Pomelo (Citrus grandis), the largest of citrus fruits, belongs to the family Rutaceae. It is also known as Shaddock.

Pomelo is native to Southeast Asia and is now grown in countries including China, Malaysia, Indonesia,  Japan, India, Fiji, Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand.
