Founded in April, 2003 in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In this lab, the researchers work on the plant molecular mechanisms during the development and the defense against the environmental stresses by the functional analysis of some key transcriptional factors, such as WRKY zinc-finger DNA-binding protein. In addition, based on the abundant plant resources of Yunnan, the research group will strive at the discovery of more plant functional genes and the phylogeny of these genes. At the present, the lab has been equipped well with a series of molecular instruments and machines, such as Thermal cyclers,5333 Model Mastercycler Gradient PCR, SIGMA Refrigerated Centrifuge, Eppendorf Biophotometer, SG210D SpeedGelR Integrated Gel Dryer, VL PHOTO-PRINT 215-SD, Thermo Formal Ultra low Temperature upright Freezer, Thermal Hybaid, Kodak Medical X-ray Processor, and so on. Now we are working on the functional analysis of the WRKY transcriptional factor in the rice and Arabidopsis by the genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and biotechnology. |
