This instrument is used to separate and detect the anions in water or soil extractions (Cl^-, NO^3-, SO₄^2- and PO₄^3-, etc.). Cations (K⁺, Na⁺, Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, NH₄⁺, etc.) can also be separated and detected using the cationic mode. It is effectively applied in the study of the fixation, accumulation, release and translocation in water ecosystem.
