The analyzer is used to determine the quantity of carbon and nitrogen in soil and plant samples. The analytical results are often used to study the carbon and nitrogen cycle and energy flow, which can indicate nutrient accumulation, distribution and return in the ecosystems. It has been used in studies on carbon and nitrogen allocation in plant growth, conversion of carbon and nitrogen between plant and soil, and nutrient variation in the soil.
