Mr. U Thwin Htet Lin, Consul General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Kunming, headed up a delegation to Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) on March 25. Prof. Fan Zexin, deputy director of XTBG, gave a warm welcome to the visitors. He provided an overview of the garden’s development and highlighted cooperation between XTBG and Myanmar partners. Over the past decade, the Southeast Asian Biodiversity Research Institute (SEABRI) has collaborated with Myanmar’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, achieving significant progress in biodiversity conservation research and talent cultivation. He expressed hope that the Myanmar Consulate General in Kunming would continue to facilitate the movement of researchers and streamline relevant procedures. Consul General U Thwin Htet Lin expressed keen interest in the academic and living conditions of Myanmar students at XTBG. He affirmed that the Consulate General would maintain its support for necessary visa and consular services, enabling the travel of researchers to Myanmar, the pursuit of further studies by Myanmar students in China, and bilateral exchanges between the two sides.
