Mr. Zheng Zhihong, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, conducted a field visit to the Southeast Asia Biodiversity Research Institute (SEABRI) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on September 23.

During the site inspection, Mr. Zheng visited the laboratories of various research groups and listened to detailed briefings on the groups' achievements in areas such as biodiversity cataloging, species conservation techniques, and cross-border ecological corridor planning.

Dr. Mu Mu Aung, deputy director of the Forest Research Institute under Myanmar's Forest Department, and Prof. Chen Xiaoyong of SEABRI made a report concerning the phased outcomes of the China-Myanmar joint biodiversity surveys, the effectiveness of cross-border scientific talent cultivation, and mid-to-long-term cooperation plans, etc.

Mr. Zheng acknowledged the achievements made by SEABRI. He encouraged it to deepen bilateral cooperation in biodiversity conservation, enhance cross-border scientific collaboration network, and improve long-term mechanisms for talent development.
