Prof. Sithong Thongmanivong，dean of the Faculty of Forestry of the National University of Laos (NUOL), headed up a delegation to visit Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) on June 17-19. The two sides signed an agreement of cooperation.

Prof. Xing Yaowu, director of XTBG, extended warm welcome to the guests and regarded the visit as a key milestone in the long-term friendship and cooperation.

The two sides are to deepen collaboration in joint research and publication of flora of Laos, capacity building, biodiversity surveys, academic exchanges, digitization of herbarium specimens, establishment of tropical forest dynamics plot, etc.

During the productive discussions, people from both sides focused extensively on implementing the planned collaborative activities. The signing of the cooperation agreement primarily focused on compiling Flora of Laos.

The two sides will put joint efforts to protect biodiversity and advance collaboration in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
