A 6-person delegation from the Chinese University of Hongkong (CUHK) visited Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) on June 5, led Prof. Lin Hanming, director of the State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology. The two institutions held a meeting. Dr. Chen Hui introduced the development history, research platform construction and achievements in biodiversity conservation of XTBG. Prof. Lin Hanming shared cutting-edge research outcomes from his State Key Laboratory, particularly in the field of agricultural biotechnology innovation. Prof. Yang Yongping, former director of XTBG, proposed deepening collaboration in key areas including joint research projects, tropical agricultural development, by leveraging the unique advantages of tropical regions for cooperative efforts. Following extensive discussions, the two parties reached concensus on advancing collaborations in such areas as entomological diversity research, conservation of characteristic plant species, shared access to genomic platforms, joint postgraduate training programs, etc.
