The "Art Encounters Science - The Second Xishuangbanna Tropical Rainforest Ecological Photography Exhibition" was unveiled in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) on May 22. It aims to showcase the biodiversity and unique charm of Xishuangbanna's tropical rainforest through the form of photography art. 

Prof. Yang Yongping, director of XTBG, delivered an opening speech. He emphasized the importance of ecological photography in recording biodiversity and looked forward to the potential of photographic technology in micro-recording environmental changes, reflecting human activities, and the impact of climate change. "Our ecological photography exhibition will be held year after year. In the future, through repeated photography at different times, especially macro landscape photography, we can record environmental changes and reflect the environmental changes of a place," said Yang. 

Mr.Xu Yunhua, vice chairman of the Yunnan Province Photographers Association, was invited as a special guest. He presented a lecture titled "Why do we take photos?", which deeply explored the relationship between photography art and nature conservation. 

69 carefully captured works by 36 photographers in Xishuangbanna are on display. Each piece is a profound interpretation of the unique charm of tropical rainforests, and every photo tells a fascinating story about the biodiversity of Xishuangbanna. Through the lens of the photographers, fleeting moments of vitality and natural landscapes are immortalized.  

"The photography exhibition is not only a display of photographic art but also an awakening to the awareness of biodiversity conservation. Through these photographs, we are reminded to reexamine our relationship with nature and to inspire our care for the ecological environment," said an organizer. 

The photography exhibition is jointly organized by XTBG, publicity department, forestry and grassland bureau of Xishuangbanna prefecture.
