The two-day annual meeting 2024 of staff and workers representatives congress of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) was held on March 28-29, with attendance of 42 voting representatives and 30 non-voting delegates. Mr. Gan Fanyuan, CPC secretary of XTBG, chaired the opening.
Prof. Yang Yongping,?director of XTBG, made a report concerning progress and achievements over the past year. With the title “Studying and implementing the spirit of the 2024 work conference of CAS, taking seizing the commanding heights of science and technology as the core task, and promoting cohesive development of XTBG”, he reviewed the achievements and progress made in 2023. He also deployed the major work in 2024.
Prof. Xing Yaowu, deputy director of XTBG, reported on progress in application of national botanical garden. Ms. Dong Mengyun made a financial report on “financial final accounts in 2023?and financial budget for revenues and expenditures in 2024". Mr. Shi Han introduced draft proposals of the meeting. Ms. Cao Junxiu reported on “the implementation of draft resolutions in 2023”.
All the work reports were deliberated and passed by workers representatives.
The staff representatives put forward constructive suggestions on the construction of national botanical garden, plant ex situ conservation, system mechanism reform, international science and technology cooperation, regional science and technology cooperation, ecological civilization construction, tourism development, horticulture and gardening, science communication and environmental education, team building, graduate education, staff welfare, logistics support, and other issues.
17 draft resolutions were submitted at the meeting.
