Kyaw Ze Ya, deputy director of the Forestry Department of Myanmar Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, headed up a 9-person delegation to Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) on March 19-20. The two sides held a discussion meeting.
Pro. Yang Yongping, director of XTBG, gave a warm welcome to the Myanmar visitors. He expressed gratitude to Myanmar Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation for its long-term support and assistance to the Southeast Asia Biodiversity Research Institute (SEABRI). He then acknowledged the scientific and technological cooperation exchanges between the two sides over past 11 years.
Kyaw Ze Ya thanked XTBG for its continuous support and looked forward deeper and further cooperation and achievement.
Afterwards, the two sides introduced work progress respectively and had discussion on cooperation in academic exchanges, talent training, field biodiversity survey and protection, and livelihood projects. Representatives of Myanmar students pursuing academic degrees in XTBG participated in the meeting.
The Myanmar delegation also looked around research facilities, living collections, and learned environmental education of XTBG.
