A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) and Lao Culture Tourism Public Company (LCTC) in Vientiane, Lao DPR on April 25, marking a strategic partnership has been forged between the two institutions. As representative of XTBG, Prof.Yang Yongping, director of XTBG, signed the MoU with his counterpart in Lao. Prof. Yang Yongping expressed warm congratulations to the stone founding ceremony of Lao culture tourism mansion. He pointed out that China and Lao are dedicated to the goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. XTBG pays high attention to the cooperation with LCTC and will make joint efforts to contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind. According to the MoU, the two sides will cooperate in conservation and sustainable utilization of Lao plant resources, scientific expeditions, and personnel training, etc., so as to support green “belt and road” initiative.
