A new global journal for biodiversity conservation, Integrative Conservation, has been officially launched on December 20. Integrative Conservation, the official journal of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) in collaboration with Wiley, is an open access, interdisciplinary journal encompassing a wide range of perspectives and scholarly disciplines relevant for our understanding and conservation of biodiversity.

Integrative Conservation is the result of years of planning. It has been conceived as a generalist and interdisciplinary journal, encompassing a wide range of perspectives and scholarly disciplines relevant for our understanding and conservation of biodiversity,” said Prof. YANG Yongping, director of XTBG and editor-in-chief of the journal.

At the launch event on December 20, well-known researchers like Prof. Ma Keping, Prof. Ahimsa Campos-Arcei (another editor-in-chief of the journal), Prof. Priya Davidar, etc. talked about prospects of the journal and presented lectures.

According to the editorial board, Integrative Conservation will publish original research (full articles and short notes), reviews, opinion pieces, methods, policy, practice perspectives, and others. It will publish local case studies when they meet high-quality academic standards and are considered to add value to conservation, beyond the local scale. Integrative Conservation will also publish special issues and sections organized by guest editors.
