Recently, 22 new Associate Editors are welcomed to the Journal of Ecology Editorial Board. Prof. Kyle Tomlinson from Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) is one of the 22 new associate editors.
The Journal of Ecology is a bimonthly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering all aspects of the ecology of plants. It was established in 1913 and is published by Wiley-Blackwell on behalf of the British Ecological Society. The journal publishes papers on plant ecology (including algae) in both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. In addition to population and community ecology, articles on biogeochemistry, ecosystems, microbial ecology, physiological plant ecology, climate change, molecular genetics, mycorrhizal ecology, and the interactions between plants and organisms such as animals or bacteria, are published regularly. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has an impact factor of 5.762 in 2019, and ranks Q1 in both Plant Science and Ecology.

He began his academic career as an Post-doctor at Wageningen University&Research, later as Associate Professor and Professor at Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests include: describing the ecology and evolution of spiny plants, delimiting the extent and diversity of C4 savannas and grasslands in Asia, and understanding plant community responses to fragmentation and climate change.
