A ceremony was held in Sahngri La to commemorate the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) and Pudacuo National Park on September 8. As representatives of the two sides, Prof. Chen Jin and Mr. Tang Hua signed the MoU.

Based on this agreement, a joint laboratory will be established between the two sides.

The unveiling of the Joint Laboratory of Ecological Conservation & Environmental Education in Pudacuo National Park, Shangri La (ECEE) was held on the same day, witnessed by representatives of the two sides.

The joint lab is a collaboration of the two sides to conduct research on ecological conservation and environmental education. It provides a platform for research and development collaboration, and a center for training and scientific exchange.

“XTBG plays important roles in scientific studies on biodiversity conservation, species preservation and public education. The joint lab will take advantage of this strength, leading to win-win development of the two sides, contributing to protecting ecological environment and environmental education,” said Prof. Yang Yongping, deputy director of XTBG.
