The two-day 2015 Annual Academic Conference of Chinese Botanic Gardens was held from November 12-13, with attendance of 410 representatives from home and abroad. As the host institution, Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) witnessed the complete success and fruitful results of the meeting.

   The meeting showcased the spectrum of academic research, species preservarion, gardening management, horticultural display, and public education of botanical gardens in China. The exciting program featured a wide range of speakers from new scientists to veteran botanists. Keynote plenary speeches, oral and poster presentations, and workshops highlighted the development and achievement of botanical gardens over the past years, all which were in accord with the theme “Development of ecological civilization -- mission of botanical gardens”.

   The meeting witnessed honor awarding to lifetime achievement of Chinese botanical and gardens and prize conferring to young researchers for best oral presentations.

  Taking advantages of international veteran botanists in Xishuangbanna, the Chinese Union of Botanical Gardens (CUBG) held a consultation meeting on CUBG development. Sanmen Subtropical Botanical Garden of Zhejiang also sought advice during the sidelines.

   A workshop of China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation was also held.

 The annual meeting 2016 is to be held in Beijing.
