A youth science camp named as Colorful Yunnan Science Camp came to an end on April 29 in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG). The one-week science camp was organized by CAS Kunming Branch and its five institutes. The camp aims to inspiring young teenagers into scientific research through interaction with scientists and observe nature from a scientific view. The 80 campers from Northeast Yucai School spent their last two days in XTBG.

The campers in XTBG were led to recognizing rare and distinct tropical plants, going through the tropical rainforest to experience the mystery of nature. Afterwards, the campers interacted with scientists and made simple experiments concerning plants and ecology. They also delivered research reports at XTBG research center on the final day.

The science camp gained much popularity. “We find the tropical rainforest so mysterious. How charming science is!” said the campers.
