Prof. Chen Jin visits Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

Prof. Chen Jin, director of XTBG, went to the United Kingdom to participate in the annual meeting of the Editorial Board of theProceedings of Royal Society B: Biological Sciences held on May 10-11. Chen Jin is an associate editor of the journal. During his stay in UK, Chen Jin paid a visit to the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE). He was given a warm reception by Prof. Pete Hollingsworth, Director of Science at RBGE.

Prof. Chen Jin made field trip to the living collections of RBGE. He talked with Leigh Morris and Martyn Dickson from Department of Horticulture of RBGE on jointly holding CUBG horticulture training course in China. They also held a discussion for sending outstanding trainees of CUBG course to further study at RBGE for three months.

Prof. Stephen Blackmore, former Regius Keeper of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh since 1999, accompanied Prof. Chen Jin with parts of the activities in RBGE.

Prof. Chen Jin also visited Mr.Simon Milne, who took up the post of Regius Keeper of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in February 2014. After briefly introducing XTBG, Prof. Chen Jin expressed his gratitude to Mr. Simon Milne for substantial support of RBGE to horticulture training course of the Chinese Union of Botanic Gardens (CUBG).
