In the year of 2013, Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) developed in a smooth way. XTBG received 47.22 3million RMB in research funds from 71 new projects, got 149 papers published in internationally peer-reviewed journals. The Chinese Union of Botanical Gardens (CUBG) was officially launched. The CAS Key Laboratory of Tropical Plant Resource and Sustainable Use unveiled.

Big progress has also been made in public education and landscape optimization. The Vine Garden opened to the public and becomes an elite tourist attraction.
