CAS vice president ZHNAG Yaping and other 40 experts from CAS institutes gathered together in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) during March 6-7. The meeting was aimed at discussing the management work of 14 regional centers of large apparatus and equipment of CAS.

   The Central Laboratory of XTBG is part of Kunming Biological Diversity Regional Center of Large Apparatus and Equipment of CAS.

   Public Equipment Sharing Platforms provides excellent support to the research work. The regional centers establish public platforms to incorporate all major equipments from different institutes, fostering the sharing of research equipments in CAS. Besides, the centers also provide funding for technical innovation and offers technical training to students and researchers.

  During his stay in XTBG, Academician ZHANG Yaping listened to work report by Prof. CHEN Jin. He is concerned with the progress in “One-Three-Five” plans (one positioning, three great breakthroughs and five major development directions), breakthrough in oil plants studies, talent introduction, team building, and campus construction. He also had an on-site inspection on the “3H (Housing, Home, Health) Project” of XTBG.
