YIN Hejun, vice president of the CAS, inspected Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) on November 23-24.

Yin Hejun visited living collections, environmental friendly rubber plantation, Green Stone Forest, cultivation bases of physic nut tree (Jatropha curcas L.) and Inca peanut, and laboratories. He then listened to work report of XTBG and had a discussion with some directorate members, professors, and administrative staff.

Yin Hejun urged XTBG to explicit the position of a botanical garden; to enhance scientific research and science popularization; to play a demonstration development for botanical gardens nationwide, by making full use of the platform of Chinese Union of Botanical Gardens (CUBG); to attach importance to security and secrecy; etc.
