Prof. Zhou Zhekun made a presentation entitled “Neogene floras from Yunnan and their paleoclimate reconstruction”. His team members Su Tao, Frédéric Jacques,  and Wang Li presented “Paleoclimate reconstruction of a late Pliocene flora from Longmen, Yongping County, western Yunnan”, “Paleoelevation of Yunnan in late Miocene”, “The first evidence of the Miocene Metasequoia in Yunnan, southwest China and its biological implications” respectively.

ABOUT

The second NECLIME Symposium in Asia was held in Nanjing on May 27-29,2012. It’s co-organized by the Department of Palaeobotany and Palynology, Nanjing

Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (in conjunction with Palynological Society of China and Palaeobotanical Subcommittee of PSC), and NECLIME – the Neogene Climate Evolution in Eurasia Program with the support of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

NECLIME  – Neogene Climate Evolution in Eurasia

NECLIME is an open international network of scientists working on the neogene palaeoclimate evolution in Eurasia and related changes of continental systems. The steadily growth network formed in 1999, is coordinated by groups of researchers, and currently has around 100 members in 30 countries. NECLIME holds annual meetings, has working groups and advisors for specific topics thus bringing forward scientific exchange, joint projects, and integration of the results obtained.
