Prof. Ding Zhongli, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), paid inspection tours to the field stations in Yuanjiang and Ailaoshan during March 17-20.

On March 17, Prof. Ding Zhongli went to the Yuanjiang Hot and Dry Valley Observation Station. He inspected the facilities, vegetation, and the living of staff members. He also listened to a work report by Prof. Cao Kunfang.

At Yuanjiang station 

On March 18, the vice president went to Ailaoshan Forest Ecosystem Research Station. Seeing the development achievements over the past 30 years, Prof. Ding Zhongli gave a positive recognition. He also showed interest in the preparation work of joint establishing Jingdong Subtropical Botanical Garden.

At Ailaoshan station

Accompanying the inspection tours were Prof. FAN Weiming, Director of the Bureau of Resources and Environmental, Prof. WANG Qingli, President of Kunming Branch of CAS, Mr. Li Hongwei, Prof. Cao Min, and Prof. Zhou Zhekun of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG).
