It's announced that XTBG has been recently authorized to confer doctoral degrees in 2 first-level disciplines, namely Biology and Ecology.

XTBG highly values the quality of graduate education in academic degree programs. It is one of institutes under the Chinese Academy of Sciences involving graduate education, with a complete educational system of master's and doctoral programs in Biology and Ecology.

About 

There are three levels of academic programs in institutions of higher learning in China, namely “disciplinary category”, first-level discipline and sub-discipline. For example, Jurisprudence is one of first-level disciplines involved in Law as one of discipline categories, and then Western Legal Philosophy, Legal Sociology and Legal Economics etc. are set up as sub-disciplines under Jurisprudence.
