The Annual Meeting of the Entomological Society of Yunnan is its big event each year. In 2011, the annual meeting was held in Dali city, Yunnan. Over 100 entomologists and professionals from related institutions and colleges in Yunnan province gathered to exchange scientific information and the latest research. 11 representatives of XTBG participated in the event.

Prof. Yang Darong, vice chairman of the Entomological Society of Yunnan, presided over the opening ceremony. He also delivered a keynote speech entitled “Research prospects for co-evolution of figs and fig wasps in China”.

A wide variety of symposia and presentations were organized. XTBG representatives presented their latest research on fig wasps.

An insect photography exhibition was also held. Photos taken by Dr. Zhao Jiangbo and Dr. Yang Pei of XTBG won favorable comment.

Dr. Peng Yanqiong was elected as secretary general of the Entomological Society of Yunnan.
