NSF delegation visits XTBG

Dr. William Y. Chang, director of the NSF Beijing Office, headed a delegation of American National Science Foundation (NSF) to XTBG during August 1-5. The visit was accompanied by Dr. Liu Yinghui ofNational Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and other NSFC officials.

Dr. Cao Min, deputy director of XTBG, showed the guests around the living collections, scientific research center, and the 20-ha tropical forest dynamics plot.

 

On August 2, the delegation of NSF and NSFC officials held a discussion meeting with some XTBG scientists.

Dr. Chen Jin, director of XTBG, briefed the history, research domains, achievements, future planning and international communication to the guests.

Dr. James Wang and Dr. Alan Tessier of NSF introduced the cooperation between NSF and China and guide to international cooperation programs.

Afterwards, the NSF, NSFC and XTBG exchanged ideas on international cooperation programs, capacity building and some other topics.
