The unveiling ceremony of 5A National Tourist Attraction of XTBG was held on July 12. The ceremony marked the long awaited culmination of the upgrade of the Xishaungbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) being one of the best scenic spots in China.

The unveiling ceremony was hosted by Dr. Li Qingjun, deputy director of XTBG. Dr. Chen Jin, director of XTBG, delivered a warm speech, expressing his gratitude to the concerted efforts by the local government departments, tourism administrations, and all faculty & staff of the Garden.

Prof. Wang Qingli, president of CAS Kunming Branch, and Mr. Chen Qizhong, vice governor of Xishuangbanna, addressed the ceremony, illustrating significance and prospect of the newly awarded 5A national tourist attraction – XTBG.

The signboard of the 5A National Tourist Attraction was jointly unveiled by Mr. Jiang Pusheng, Prof. Wang Qingli, Prof. Chen Jin, and Mr. Chen Qizhong.

To celebrate the event, XTBG offered free admission to all visitors on that day. Over 20,000 visitors thronged into the Garden, enjoying the beautiful landscape and breathing fresh air. The Garden is filled with smiling faces and joyous laughter, in addition to diverse trees and flowers.

While appreciating the distinctive plants and flowers, many visitors take snapshots, family photos, some of them even take videos.

Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG0 is the only 5A National Tourist Attraction in Xishuangbanna. The other four 5 A national tourist attractions in Yunnan Province are Stone Forest Scenic Spot, Lijiang Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Dali Chongsheng Temple and the Three Pagoda Tourist Area, and the Ancient Town of Lijiang.
