The eighth national congress of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) opened on the morning of May 27, 2011 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. As a representative of Botanical Society of China, Prof.Chen Jin of XTBG attended the conference.

 Dr.Chen Jin submitted two proposals concerning “exemption of business tax from national public science-education bases”, and “conduct scientific assessment of important popular science activities”.
