XTBG and Laos to cooperate in industrialization research on oil plants

In early May, Prof. Dr. Chen Jin led a delegation to Laos. The visit was aimed at seeking cooperation opportunities in industrialization research on such oil plants as physic nut tree (Jatropha curcas L.) and Inca peanut (Plukenetia volubilis L.).

During their stay in Laos, Prof. Chen Jin met Ms. SOM Keo, head of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, Oudomxai, Laos. The two sides exchanged ideas on the industrialization of Inca peanut (Plukenetia volubilis L.), urban gardening and greening, and establishment of a botanical garden in Oudomxai.

 

Dr. Chen Jin also held talk with Mr. Kham Nammixay, Deputy Chief of Environment Monitoring Quality Center, Environmental Research Institute,Science Technology and Environment Agency. They talked about research advances in physic nut tree (Jatropha curcas L.). The two sides may cooperate to provide technical assistance for the large-scale plantation of Jatropha curcas L..

The XTBG delegation was composed of Porof. Xu Zengfu, Dr. Yang Qing, and Mr. Deng Jiwu.
