On July 17, a 20-person group from the Atagawa Tropical & Alligator Garden of Japan paid a visit to XTBG, in the company of Prof. Pei Shengji, former director of XTBG. Prof. Chen Jin offered a warm reception and gave a brief introduction to the guests. Afterwards, the guests were shown around the Garden by Prof. Hu Huabin.
During his term as director of XTBG, Prof. Pei Shengji has helped XTBG to build up friendship with Atagawa Tropical & Alligator Garden. Some plants conserved in XTBG were introduced from Atagawa Tropical Garden. Some staff members have ever been trained there.
The Atagawa Tropical & Aligator Garden is famous for the largest number of kinds of alligators and crocodiles, and about 9,000 kinds of tropical plants. Such tropical flower trees and fruits as natural orchids, hibiscuses, tropical water lilies and bananas, mangos, etc. are collected there.
