Mr. Wei Diansheng, director-general of Department of Afforestation with State Forestry Administration (SFA), came to XTBG to see about the research progress in Jatropha curcas and rare wood on March 10.

Mr. Peng Daiping, deputy director of XTBG, introduced the germplasm collection, breeding, and cultivation of energy plant Jatropha curcas, and plantation of rare wood. The visitors spoke well of the efforts XTBG put in the studies on the development of energy plants and thought it of high significance for large-scale plantation of Jatropha curcas.

The director-general was also interested in the introduction and plantation of rare wood and suggested XTBG enlarge the scale. The visitors made field tour to the cultivation base of Jatropha curcas.
