Mr. Teng Mianzhen, deputy director general of the Department of Basic Research of the Ministry of Science & Technology (MOST), visited XTBG on August 27.

 He was shown around the main scenic spots within the Garden in the company of Prof. Hu Huabin, director of Division of Research Planning & Foreign Affairs of XTBG. During the tour, Hu gave a general introduction of the Garden. Mr. Teng Mianzhen made a field tour to the cultivation base of Jatropha curcas, a kind of bio-diesel source. He showed much interest in Jatropha curcas and asked about related information about its production, plantation and adapted conditions, etc.  

“Whatever percentage the bio-diesel fuel can account for the all diesel consumption, bio-diesel is still essential” said the deputy director general.
