On April 2, the first session of the third Congress of Workers & Administrative Staff of XTBG smoothly opened. 36 of the 43 voting delegates and 8 non-voting delegates attended the session. About 200 staff and graduate students took part in the opening ceremony through video conferencing system.

Prof. Chen Jin, director of XTBG, delivered a work report to the annual session of the congress. Deputy director Li Hongwei made a statistical report on financial accounts in 2005 and the financial budgeting of this year. Then Mr. Peng Daiping, chairman of the labor union and deputy director, briefed the work of the labor union in the past four years.

  After serious discussions on the reports mentioned above, the delegates put forward a lot of suggestions on the development of the Garden. 52 draft resolutions were submitted.

   At the session, the members of the labor union were re-elected.

   Fully completed the agendas as scheduled, the annual session closed the next day.
