During February 23-25, three CAS academicians of biological and medicinal sciences (Prof. Lin Qishui, Prof. Qiang Boqin, and Prof. Chen Weifeng) paid a visit to XTBG. Mr. Shen Baogen, director of Academic Divisions of CAS, and Mr. Peng Yushui, the CPC secretary of Kunming Branch, accompanied the academicians to the Garden.

Prof. Chen Jin, director of XTBG, showed the academicians around the living plant collections, the Tropical Rainforest Ethnic Culture Museum, and the tropical rainforest of the Garden.  Afterwards, they listened to a brief report made by director Chen Jin, held talks with some scientific personnel and graduate students. They also gave some constructive suggestions on the development of research, public science education and tourism.

  Before the visit to XTBG, the three academicians participated in the 8^th Session of the 12^th Committee of the CAS Academic Division of Biological and Medicinal Sciences held in Kunming.
