On October 22, Mr. Hu Yongkang, member of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and chief engineer of Fushun Research Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemicals, visited XTBG. His visit was at the invitation of Mr. Jiang Pusheng, the CPC secretary of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. Prof. Chen Jin, director of XTBG, and other XTBG superintendents accompanied them a tour within the Garden.

  Academician Hu looked around the main scenic areas of XTBG and the Tropical Rainforest Ethnic Culture Museum. He also made a site visit about the project of Jatropha curcas L., a kind of energy plants, and communicated with relevant scientific personnel.
