At the invitation of ADB’s Southeast Asia Department, Prof. Chen Jin and Hu Huabin (as observers) attended the second GMS Environment Ministers’ Meeting (EMM) which was held in Vientiane, Lao P.D.R during January 28-30. The meeting brought together ministers, vice ministers or ambassadors of the six GMS countries and top level officials of ADB, UNEP, UNDP, WWF, and IUCN, etc.

During the sessions, Dr. Chen Jin communicated with officials of the ADB’s Environment Operations Center (EOC) and representatives of international NGOs implementing BCI project in Laos and Cambodia. They also visited National University of Laos and discussed further cooperation possibilities with related personnel.

 In addition, on promoting the construction of Cambodian National Botanical Garden, Vice Minister Wu Xiaoqing of SEPA and officials of Cambodian Ministry of Environment held talks with Dr. Chen Jin.
