A 5 -person delegation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MNREC), Myanmar, visited Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden XTBG) from July 8-12. Dr. Thaung Naing Oo, vice director of the Forest Department of MNREC, headed up the delegation and talked about further cooperation with XTBG. 

Prof. Yang Yongping, director of XTBG, met the delegation. He reviewed cooperation history and looked forward future development prospects between the two sides.  

Mr. Wang Zhenyu, vice director general of CAS Bureau of International Cooperation, sent warm greetings to Myaanmar guest via video. He said that CAS and MNREC signed MoU in 2016 to set up Southeast Biodiversity Research Center (SEABRI) and have achieved much progress in international cooperation, scientific research, personnel training, etc. He expected further and deeper cooperation between the two sides and achieve more. 

At the meeting, participating researchers discussed achievements and further cooperation in biodiversity survey and conservation, personnel training, academic exchange, etc. 

According to Thaung Naing Oo, a new round of MoU is under well preparation and to be signed soon. The two sides will continue further and deeper cooperation.
