XTBG participates in IXth International Fig Symposium |

The IX International Fig Symposium was held at the Conference hall of the National Center for Scientific research (CNRS) in Montpellier, France from June 15-18. The symposium brought together researchers on figs worldwide. Six young research fellows of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) participated in the meeting and presented their research work. Their presentations were as following: Peng Yanqiong Pollinator-mediated selective reproduction in dioecious fig-fig wasp mutualism; Wang Bo Seasonal variation of trophic cascade strength in an ant-fig wasp-fig system; Wang Gang Ficus diversification via hybridization and introgression under the diffuse coevolution, preliminary results Yang Pei Comparison of sensillar morphology in female pollinators and non-pollinators in the host Ficus auriculata Chen Huanhuan The northern limits of figs and the expected impacts of climate change. Afterwards, XTBG researchers communicated with international colleagues and discussed cooperation points.
