Mr. Nanda Bahadur Pun, vice president of Nepal, had w week-long official visit in Chian from June 10 to 16. After he attended the fourth China-South Asian Fair and 24th Kunming Export & Import Trade Fair, he paid a visit to Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) on June 15. He was accompanied by his spouse Hastamali and some officials of Nepal.
    Prof. Hu Huabin, deputy director of XTBG, showed the Nepalese delegation around the living collections and research facilities. He briefed the development of XTBG, especially education of international students. They also changed ideas on rubber industry, medicinal plants, and work of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD).
 Vice president Nanda Bahadur Pun met Nepal students studying in XTBG. He encouraged the students to concentrate on scientific research and have a solid understanding on techniques of research equipment, so as to contribute more to their homeland after their accomplishment of studies in China.
