Seedling exchange between American Bamboo Society and XTBG

Two members of the American Bamboo Society, Dr. Clifford Sussman and Mr. Robert Saporito, visited XTBG during July 1-3.

The two guests made field visit at the Bamboo Collection of XTBG and showed much interest in some tropical bamboo species.

They gifted more than 20 bamboo species native to Southeast Asian countries to XTBG. As reward, XTBG exchanged seedlings of 20 bamboo species which aroused their interest.

During their stay at XTBG, Dr. Li Qingjun met the guests. The two sides showed interest in conducting long-term seedling exchanges.

Dr. Clifford Sussman is representing the Southern California Chapter of the American Bamboo Society.

Mr. Robert Saporito is the president of the Florida/Caribbean Chapter of the American Bamboo Society. He is now owner of Tropical Bamboo Nursery & Gardens, which is a progressive, 9-acre nursery specializing in tropical, clumping bamboo plants.
