Prof. DING Zhongli, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), headed up a 6-person delegation to Myanmar and made a field tour to the gold mineral resources along the Yangon-Mandalay Express Way during January 2-6.
The Myanmar Geosciences Society gave warm reception to the CAS delegation and made the visit schedule for them.
The delegation visited Myanmar's Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Myanmar Geosciences Society, Yangon Technological University, Yangon University, West Yangon University, and Dagon University.
Many Myanmar institutions showed interest in furthering cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and its sub-institutes, including Institute of Geographical and Natural Resources Research, Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), etc.
The CAS delegation was composed of Prof. QIU Huasheng of CAS Bureau of International Cooperation, Prof. SHEN Lei of CAS Institute of Geographical and Natural Resources Research, Prof. CAO Min and Ms. LI Liming of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, and Mr. Duan Xiaonan of CAS General Office.
