Advanced Field Ecology Course - Xishuangbanna (AFEC-X), sponsored by XTBG, was launched on July 9 morning in Kunming. Prof. Chuck Cannon, the head of Ecological Evolution Group, XTBG, introduced the curriculum, activities and intended goal of this course to trainees.

 
The course will arranged as two days' indoor course in Kunming firstly, because it clashes with the 5th International Symposium on the Family of Zingiberaceae in Xishuangbanna. Then, the most course and field training will take place in Xishuangbanna. There are 28 trainees, mainly from Asia-Pacific region, and also including young researchers from Uganda, Africa. This course will last four weeks.
