Dr. Heike Vibrans, a professor-researcher in the Laboratory of Ethnobotany at Postgraduate College in Agricultural Sciences, paid a visit to XTBG from June 16 to 25 on invitation.
During her stay in XTBG, Prof. Heike Vibrans held academic exchanges and collaborative research with related research group and personnel. Their topics covered weeds, ecology, biogeography, taxonomy, evolution, invasives, and ethnobotany. She also looked around the Garden and made field studies in the tropical rainforest within the Garden.
Dr. Heike Vibrans delivered a lecture titled “Vegetation of Mexico and its use”and “Weeds and invasives in Mexico――an overview”. She also provided suggestions conducive to the studies on Ageratina adenophora and Chromolaena odorata, which are two major weed species invasive to southwest China. |
