Co-sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Science Fundation of China and the Royal Society (UK), the "China_UK discussion meeting on Science for plant conservation" held in Kunming from October 15 to October 16, 2005.

    Over 50 participants from the Royal Society, Royal Botanic Garden (Kew & Edinburgh), London Natural History Museum, Edinburgh College of Arts, British Consulates in Guangzhou and in Chongqing, as well as a number of botanical gardens and research institutes in China, participated this important meeting.

    Dr. Chen Jin, director of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, joined the meeting and presented a report on "public education in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden" .
