Dr. Gbadamassi Gouvide Dossa of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) is onthe2016 Awardee List of Excellent International Students of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). Dr. Gbadamassi Gouvide Dossa is conducting doctoral study at the Plant Ecophysiology Group. His research is related to biodiversity, carbon sequestration with focus on assessing CO2 efflux from woody debris through disturbance gradient and its relation to forest composition. He is also looking at the factors influencing wood debris decomposition in tropical environments. Additionally, he examines the role of wood traits and phylogeny in wood debris decomposition. He aims to improve the parameterization of respiration rate of wood debris in order to accurately incorporate it into the global models of carbon cycle. Dr. Gbadamassi Gouvide Dossa at field work
