XTBG holds summer school for graduate students

On August 3, the graduate student summer school themed with “global change and plant responses” opened at the headquarters of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG). The summer school was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).More than 50 graduate students and Ph.D candidates from 20 universities of China and Suranaree University of Technology of Thailand participated in the summer school. 

The summer school hosts thematic lectures by leading scientists, presentations by young researchers and students. The goals are to discuss cutting-edge research subjects in climate change, ecology, plant evolution, etc., to encourage and facilitate young scientists and students to conduct interdisciplinary research. 

 The lecturers include such well-known scientists as SUN Hang, Zhang Yiping, and Liu Wenyao, and some other young researchers.  

 The participants also made field trip to the 20-ha tropical forest dynamics plot. 

 The week-long summer school lasts from August 3 to 9. 

 

                     The summer school opens.
