A few XTBG young researcher fellows discovered a new cultivar from southern Yunnan. They named it as Amorphophallus paeoniifolius “Yellow’. They described its morphological characteristics. The new cultivar differs from Amorphophallus paeoniifolius by its tufty habit, glossy petiole and peduncle.

Following are a few pictures of the new cultivar.

Inflorescence (A) and tufty habit (B) of Amorphophallus paeoniifolius “Yellow’

Petiole morphology of A. paeoniifolius (C) and A. paeoniifolius “Yellow’ (D)

Tuber straight-cut morphology of A. paeoniifolius (E) and A. paeoniifolius “Yellow’ (F)
